Hi there! Welcome to Where Is Basil? — a website travel adventure. I’m sending Basil the Donkey across the globe with the Fawlty Towers DVD Collection. Why? So everyone can enjoy Fawlty Towers and be a part of this grand experiment.

How far will Basil travel? That’s entirely up to you! You can have Basil the Donkey visit you, anywhere in the world, and he’ll bring the DVD Collection with him. Just sign-up and get on the list.

Basil will stay with you for 1 week during which time you can enjoy the Fawlty Towers DVD Collection. You’ll also be invited to guest blog here, regaling us with stories of your location and the adventures you’re having with Basil.

After the week is up, check who’s next on the list and ship them the DVD Collection. Send Basil too, please. With the DVD Collection, we hope you’ll include a postcard from wherever you’re from and a small trinket as well. You probably won’t know who you’re sending the package to — and that’s the point! You’ll become a part of a huge community — all of us having fun with Basil and Fawlty Towers. Check out all the details.

Who is Basil? Basil’s a code-writing donkey. He works for me (Ben Yoskovitz), but I’ve decided to give him a vacation so he could explore the world and meet lots of new people. He’s extremely friendly (some say too friendly, but that’s another story), and low-maintenance. Give him some carrots and a roof over his head, and Basil’s going to be very happy.

Remind me again, why are you doing this? I think it’ll be fun. And interesting. I’m building a community of people who enjoy a good laugh, Fawlty Towers and the idea that the Internet can connect people around the world…and pretty easily too. Considering all the crap and stress we face every day, and the insanity of world politics, racism, wars, etc. I think we need to laugh (and solve those problems too of course, laughter doesn’t solve everything, I am a realist.) Still, let’s build a great, big community of friendly folk - and let’s see how far Basil and Fawlty Towers will travel!
